NLCS Board Approves Resolution To Transfer Bonds For Fayetteville And Springville

NLCS

(BEDFORD) – The North Lawrence Community School board approved a resolution to transfer the bonds of Fayetteville and Springville to the Oolitic Gym.

According to North Lawrence Community School Attorney Greg Pittman at the time of consolidation they did not know the bonds were still on the two schools. The bond company stated they were free and clear.

The amount of the bonds is $2 million and public hearings will have to be conducted at a later date to inform the public of the release of the bonds. A court hearing will approve the action which is required by Indiana law.

This resolution is a first step in a long legal process to be able to give the Springville School back to Perry Township Trustee.

On Tuesday, Perry Township Bob Phillips filed a lawsuit seeking a mandate for the Springville Elementary School to which attorney Greg Pittman states should not hinder this process.
