Application Available For Judicial Position In Marion County

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Marion County Judicial Selection Committee is beginning the process of selecting names to send to the Governor to fill a Republican vacancy on the Marion Superior Court.

The vacancy will occur when Judge Lisa Borges retires on December 31, 2020.Committee Chairman and Indiana Supreme Court Justice Mark Massa announced applications for the position are available online and must be submitted through the Indiana Courts Portal by noon (Eastern) on Monday, December 7.

The 14-member Committee was established by the Indiana General Assembly in 2017. The Committee is required to submit to the Governor the “three most qualified candidates” for appointment when a vacancy arises. Indiana law provides the framework for the duties and membership of the Committee.

The Committee will meet on December 15 to interview the applicants in the FUSE West conference room on the second floor of the South Tower at Capital Center (201 N. Illinois St., Indianapolis, IN 46204).
