(DAVIESS CO.) – The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department is warning residents to be on alert for a new scam.
Residents have been receiving calls from people impersonating government or law enforcement agencies – It’s a scam.
Some request personal information, some are claiming there is a warrant out for your arrest, and most are asking for money.
All of the calls have a 812 area code.
Sheriff Gary Allison says residents should never give out any personal information over the phone.
“No legit government or law enforcement agency will ever call and ask for any of your information,” he added.
