(MITCHELL) – No one was injured Sunday night when a vehicle struck a utility pole in the 600 block of Meridian Street in Mitchell Sunday night.

A 911 call reporting the accident came in at 11:04 p.m. Sunday.

“I heard the loud crash and by the time I got outside to make sure everyone was all right, the driver was already out of the vehicle,” said Taylor Carlisle, of Mitchell. Carlisle’s mast that connects the electricity to his home was torn off the house during the accident.

Taylor Carlisle’s home was damaged during a traffic accident Sunday evening on Meridian Road in Mitchell.

The pole was in the middle of the roadway and a few residences in the area lost power. Both Duke Energy and Horizon Cable Services were contacted to make repairs.
