Bloomfield Man Injured in Motorcycle Accident

(SPRINGVILLE) – A Bloomfield man who was a passenger on a motorcycle was injured Monday afternoon after the driver of the motorcycle lost control of the vehicle on Old Farm Road.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department officers were alerted to the crash at Noon.

Officers didn’t go to the crash site at first. They instead went to a home on Old Farm Road to meet with a group of motorcycle riders.

The group told police they were traveling north on Old Farm Road when a person driving a gray Mercury Marquis crossed the center line.

This caused the driver, 31-year-old Thomas Butler, of Paoli, to swerve to avoid a collision with the car.

The motorcycle left the right side of the road and crashed.

Butler’s passenger, 31-year-old Kevin Jones, of Bloomfield, complained of body pain and pain to his face.

He told police he would go to the hospital by private vehicle for treatment.

Butler was not injured during the incident.

Police say the car did not make contact with the motorcycle.
