Floyd sweeps BNL in HHC semifinal

BNL’s Cameron Gratzer and the Stars fell to Floyd Central in the semifinal round of the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament.

BEDFORD – Floyd Central advanced to the Hoosier Hills Conference tournament final with a 5-0 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during boys high school tennis action on Wednesday.

The Stars (13-7) fell into the consolation round to face either Jeffersonville or New Albany on Friday.

The Highlanders dropped only six games in singles. Gabe Cora topped Adam Tlustek 6-2, 6-0 at No.1, Isaac Anderton rolled past Steven Graham 6-2, 6-0 at No.2, and Cole Anderton downed Graham Turner 6-1, 6-1 at No.3.

Floyd’s Landon Hodges and Colin Jacobi edged Cameron Gratzer and Konley Woodward 6-4, 6-1 at No.1 doubles, while Braden Poe and Nolan Witsman cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 win over Nate Pemberton and Caleb Jones at No.2.
