Red Hill Fiber Mill & Alpaca Farm Participates In Free National Alpaca Farm Days

(TASWELL) – On September 26th and 27th, alpaca owners from across North America will celebrate the 14th annual National Alpaca Farm Days.

Participating alpaca farms will welcome the public, while following state and local safety regulations, to meet their alpacas. Attendees will learn more about these inquisitive, unique animals, the luxury fiber they produce and why the alpaca business is perfect for environmentally conscious individuals.

Red Hill Fiber Mill & Alpaca Farm will welcome guests from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. for the Grand Opening of the Fiber Mill, and alpaca farm tours in conjunction with the national Alpaca Day event sponsored by the Alpaca Owner’s Association.

This is a FREE event open to the public.

During the tour, families will meet and interact with the alpacas that live on the farm and enjoy an informative presentation on the animal’s history and sustainability. Inside the mill they will learn what each of the machines are used for and experience fiber processing in action. A demonstration on hand-spinning will also be given along with other activities.

The Farm Store will be open for shopping and offers a variety of alpaca yarn, roving and batts, which includes fiber that was processed from the animals on the farm. Shawls, socks, stuffed animals and other novelties will also be available.
