(BEDFORD) – Two people were arrested after a Bedford Police officer stopped a vehicle at 15th and M streets.
According to Chief Terry Moore, the driver, 28-year-old Nicholas Atkins, of Oolitic, gave police consent to search the vehicle. 28-year-old Evan Shoults, of Bedford, was also identified as a passenger in the vehicle.
K-9 ZaZu alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle.
During the search officers located marijuana, drug paraphernalia, syringes, and narcotic drugs in various places in the vehicle.
Shoults is facing charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Atkins was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia.
