George F. Spears, 72 of Bedford, passed away at IU Health Bloomington Hospital on Tuesday September 8, 2020.
He was born in Martin County on February 19, 1948 to George J. Spears and Betty (Peck) Spears. He married Lana Brassine on October 15, 1994 and she survives.
George was a 1966 Graduate of Shoals High School and US Army Veteran, she was a 50 year member of the Shoals American Legion Post #61, He was a graduate of the Indiana School of Mortuary Science as a licensed Funeral Director, he worked at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals and Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford before retiring.
George also previously served as the Martin County Coroner and was a member of the Shoals United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lana (Brassine) Spears of Bedford, one brother, Karlas(Sandy) Spears of Bedford, and one sister, Wanda (David) Stone of Shoals
George was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Max Leroy McDaniel and Carl “Buddy” McDaniel and two sisters, Linda Tedrow and infant sister, Sandy Spears
No services will be held, burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Shoals.
