Closure Of Whiteland Road Access East Of State Road 37 Scheduled Tuesday

(MORGAN CO.) – I-69 Finish Line progress near the Waverly Road bridge site will impact traffic north of Martinsville next week.

State Road 37 access to Whiteland Road east of S.R. 37 is scheduled to close permanently on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Whiteland Road is being realigned and extended to connect with Waverly Road along the east side of S.R. 37.

Whiteland Road remains open west of S.R. 37. Local traffic can also access S.R. 37 at Banta Road and Big Bend Road.

Bridge beams placed over S.R. 37

Large concrete beams are scheduled for installation over S.R. 37 next week for the new Waverly Road bridge. Drivers should watch for daytime lane and shoulder closures near Waverly Road on Wednesday, Sept. 9 for crane setup and bridge beam delivery.

Between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Wednesday and Thursday nights, traffic stoppages of up to 20 minutes will allow cranes to lift the large concrete beams into place over the highway. The beams are expected to be placed over southbound S.R. 37 on Wednesday night and over northbound S.R. 37 on Thursday night.

Lane closures may continue into the day on Friday, Sept. 11 for crane removal. The S.R. 37 speed limit is reduced to 45 mph from Martinsville through Whiteland Road.

Ennis Road to close at S.R. 37

Ennis Road is scheduled to close Thursday, Sept. 10 at State Road 37 for several weeks of access road construction. Local access will be maintained to south using Egbert Road and Henderson Ford Road.

I-69 contractors are building an access road along the east side of S.R. 37 to connect New Harmony Road with Henderson Ford Road.
