Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services Largest Fundraiser For The Year Is Saturday

(BEDFORD) – There is not one family in Lawrence County that has not been impacted by cancer. The word cancer is scary to most individuals, but then the fight for survival kicks in, and together family and friends join in that fight.

One organization that helps families with the battle is Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services.

The 19th Annual Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services Car Show will be held at Bedford Ford Lincoln Chrysler on Saturday, September 5th from 9:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m. This is the largest fundraiser for their organization.

Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services provides a variety of services to cancer patients who reside in Lawrence County, Indiana.

Services include:

  • Nutritional Supplements
  • Transportation to treatments or physicians
  • Medical Supplies
  • Wigs for chemotherapy
  • Medical equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, shower chairs and commodes)
  • Prothesis and bras after surgery
  • Mammograms and PSA tests
  • Medicine ( limited)
  • Some help with utilities or rent on an exception basis
  • Limited amount for personal needs

This event is also one of Southern Indiana’s largest car shows. The show will feature cars, trucks, bikes, trikes and tractors.

All proceeds from show entries of $15 per vehicle, food sales, and donations are used to help cancer patients.

Spectators can attend for free and are encouraged to come out and enjoy a fun-filled day at Bedford Ford Lincoln Chrysler located on State Road 37 in Bedford.

Many Lawrence County residents have been helped throughout the year thanks to the generosity and giving of the community.

There will be a silent auction with several prizes awarded throughout the event.

105.5 WQRK radio personality Sean Duncan will be on site from Noon until 3:00 p.m. in support of this event.
