(LAWRENCE CO.) – The Lawrence County “Back The Blue” BBQ sponsored by the Lawrence County Republican Party will be held on Saturday, September 12th at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds. The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
On the same day there will be a motorcycle ride at 11:00 a.m. that will include a 100-150 mile trip throughout the area. The route has yet to be developed according to Capt. Morgan Lee of the Bedford Police Department.
Details for the “Back the Blue” motorcycle ride are as follows:
- Registration is 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds
- Kickstands up at 11:15 a.m.
- Return to the fairgrounds between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
“We ask they show up the day of the event and register and sign a release form. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a departure at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds around 11:00 a.m.,” stated Lee. “Anyone can be part of the ride, but the ride is more for motorcycles. Motorcycles will be assigned to the front of the group, with an escort from one of the police departments. All other vehicles will line up at the end.”
“This is a great event and appreciation day. We want to thank the community for all the support of our Lawrence County Police officers,” Lee concluded.
