Sparky the Fire Dog came to introduce himself to the children. Members of the fire department were on hand to teach fire prevention and allow children and residents to view the department’s firefighting equipment.

Fundraisers are needed to help support the fire department in operational costs and have the funds to upgrade firefighting equipment. It takes thousands of dollars to keep things operational for the all-volunteer fire service.

Marshall Township is one of the fastest-growing areas in Lawrence County with close proximity to Bloomington, Indiana.

Firefighters took the time to teach fire prevention and talk about the things they do as an emergency response agency. The department not only fights fire but performs auto extrication and emergency medical assistance.

The department is always in need of financial support and volunteers. You do not have to be a firefighter to volunteer your time. The department is seeking people to help with fundraisers and other expertise that can benefit the department and community they serve.
