Cougars end BNL’s win streak

BNL’s Konley Woodward combined with Cameron Gratzer for a win at No.1 doubles, but North Daviess clipped the Stars 3-2 on Monday afternoon.

ELNORA – North Daviess won the top two singles matches while edging Bedford North Lawrence 3-2 in boys high school tennis action on Monday afternoon.

The Cougars ended BNL’s four-match winning streak.

Jaylen Mullen paced North Daviess with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Adam Tlustek at No.1 singles, and Markus Britton bounced Steven Graham 6-2, 6-4 at No.2. The Cougars also won No.2 doubles as Brecklin Byrer and Cam Sassano stopped Nate Pemberton and Caleb Jones 6-2, 7-5.

The Stars (5-4) took No.3 singles as Graham Turner topped Devin Collins 6-1, 6-2, and BNL won No.1 doubles as Konley Woodward and Cameron Gratzer decked Brooks Helms and Colin Kemp 6-3, 6-4.

BNL will host Loogootee on Tuesday.
