(WASHINGTON CO.) – The Washington County Sheriffs Department partnered with the Salem Police Department and held a drive-thru drug drop this past Saturday (August 22) from 9 a.m. until Noon.
Sheriff Brent Miller and Police Chief Tim Miller were both pleased with the results as citizens dropped off 78.5 pounds of expired and or unused prescription medications on Saturday.
If you missed the drive-thru drug drop, officials can still assist you with getting rid of your expired or unused prescription medications.
The Sheriffs Department has a drug drop box located in the lobby of the Washington County Justice Center, located at 801 Jackson Street. The lobby is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
The Salem Police Department also has a drug drop box in the main entrance to the Police Department which is accessible to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
“We are dedicated to working with our citizens to make Washington County a safer place for your family and ours,” said Sheriff Brent Miller.
