Rockin On The River Gathers 27 Totes Of Food And $1,500 For L.I.F.E. Food Pantry

(BEDFORD) – Rockin on The River for L.I.F.E. was held on a rainy August 1st at the Bedford Boat and Sportsman’s Club.

But that didn’t stop those attending donating to Lawrence County Interfaith Endeavor Inc. – otherwise known as L.I.F.E.

The community gathered 37 totes of food and $1,500 in cash for the organization.

Admission to the event was a non-perishable food item or items or a cash donation that was collected at the gate.

“This is greatly appreciated,” said Donnie Hall, Director of Community Relations for L.I.F.E. Pantry. “The pantry is open to anyone needing assistance. We don’t want anyone in Lawrence County going hungry.”

To get assistant from L.I.F.E. you have to be a Lawrence County resident and bring in a driver’s license or ID and a utility bill or rent receipt to get signed up. You can then visit the pantry once a month, Hall added.

L.I.F.E. provides emergency food assistance every 30 days and emergency rent or mortgage utility assistance.

  • Spaghetti and spaghetti sauce
  • Ramen noodles
  • Pancake mix and syrup
  • Saltine crackers and canned soups
  • Canned meats
  • Canned beans
  • Cereal
  • Cornbread mix
  • Canned pasta
  • Canned fruit
  • Dish soap
  • Laundry soap
  • Toilet paper
  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant
  • Toothpaste
  • Household cleaners
