Lawrence County Property Tax Sale Sep. 30

(BEDFORD) – The Lawrence County tax sale is scheduled for September 30, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. At this time there is no decision whether this will be an in-person sale or electronically. Officials are hoping for an in-person sale.

This year’s sale started with a total of 349 parcels with a total of $757,577.01 that were delinquent in property taxes from last year’s spring property tax installments.

The highest year in delinquency was in 2010, with 937 parcels up for sale, with delinquent taxes at $1,590.156.69.

Last year’s tax sale had a total of 55 parcels sold with $66,505.77 in taxes collected and a surplus collected of $742,850.08. A total of 48 properties did not sell.

In order to keep the properties out of the tax sale, back taxes need to be paid in full the day before the sale which is September 29th by 4:30 p.m.
