(BEDFORD) – Indiana State Police are investigating the death of a Lawrence County inmate.
According to the log, jail officials requested an ambulance at 4:49 a.m. after a report of a male inmate found unconscious in J block.
ISP Sgt. Curt Durnil says the inmate’s family has been notified and an autopsy is scheduled for this afternoon.
The name of the inmate and how he died has not been released.
“The investigation is currently ongoing,” said Durnil.
