James Robert Williams, 76, of Mitchell, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020, at his home.
Born December 28, 1943, in Mitchell, he was the son of James Edward and Mary Louise (Ball) Williams. He married Connie Karr April 21, 1984,
Jim retired from Lehigh Cement Company with 30 years of service. He was a 1961 graduate of Mitchell High School and a member of the First Christian Church and Masonic Lodge No. 228 F.&A.M.
Survivors include her wife, Connie Williams of Mitchell; daughters, April and Jeff Asbury of Sullivan, Tammy and Jerry Hollingsworth of Sullivan, Cathy and Wade Hysell of Madison; stepchildren, Troy and Christi Hackney of Madison, Tricia Smith of Madison; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Rob and Evelyn Williams of Mitchell.
His parents preceded him in death.
A private family service will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Brian Bolton officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. A memorial service conducted by Masonic Lodge No. 228 F.&A.M. will be at 12:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
