Lawrence County Council Start Budget Hearings Next Week

(BEDFORD) – The budget hearings for Lawrence County offices will start on Tuesday, August 18, at 6:00 p.m.

The Lawrence County Council will have a review of the budget and then will start the process of each individual office and their requests for the 2021 budget year.

Revenue shortfalls in some areas may exist due to COVID-19 that could have an effect on each department’s request.

Tuesday’s budget hearing will include the following:

The other meetings for budget hearings will be held on August 25th and September 8th.

The final budget hearing will be held on Tuesday September 15th and final adoption of the budget on September 22nd.

The request for this year’s budget from county offices totals around $14.8 million.
