Minor Subdivision Approved During Bedford Plan Commission Meeting

(BEDFORD) – The Bedford Plan Commission approved a minor-subdivision located at 2126 Windwood Drive.

Alberta Jones and James Craig made the request to subdivide a lot into two parcels. No one spoke for or against the proposal during the meeting Tuesday afternoon.

A preliminary meeting was held on behalf of Paul F. Miller and Steve Miller who are requesting a change to the zoning for 905 O Street and 1508 9th Street. The property is presently zoned R-4 High-Density Residential District and they are requesting the properties be changed to B-2 Central Business District.

The property has been owned by Paul for more than 30 years. There are several buildings on the property for commercial use. In addition, the property taxes have been billed as a commercial property for several years. The three corner lots located in the same area are already zoned commercial.

Paul said prospective buyers were interested in purchasing the property, however, when they discovered the property was not zoned properly they backed out of the deal.

The Plan Commission voted to move the proposal on to the Zoning Board.
