BMS Principal Lucas Calhoun Updates Students On School Opening

(BEDFORD) – Bedford Middle School Principal Lucas Calhoun updated students on Friday on some activities at Bedford Middle School.

The first day of school will be Thursday, August 13th.

Officials are looking forward to welcoming students. If you have not registered please do so by Wednesday, August 5th by clicking here.

There will be a brief Open House for students and families on Wednesday, August 12th from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Masks will be required at all times for anyone over the age of 2. When possible officials are encouraging only BMS students and their parents/guardians to attend. Please self monitor anyone attending for symptoms as outlined in the reopening plan.

“We know our students and staff are excited to be together however social distancing should be observed whenever possible,” Principal Calhoun said.

Fall Sports Updates

A Volleyball Open Gym for all athletes interested in playing volleyball for the 20-21 season will be held on Thursday, August 6th, and Friday, August 7th from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. You must have a physical on file to participate. Bring your own water bottle and mask.

Middle school football will not practice the week of Monday, August 3rd.  Football practice will resume on Monday, August 10th. Time and details for practice the week of August 10th will be released later next week.

Cheerleading tryouts for this season are going to be held virtual.  There will be more information coming early next week.

Information for Cross-Country, girls golf, and boys tennis will be available on the first day of school on Thursday, Aug. 13th.
