Norma Jean Purkhiser, 58, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2002, at 2:43 p.m.at Daviess Community Hospital.
She was born on December 2, 1961, to Mary V. (Abel) Purkhiser and Virgil E. Purkhiser, and both preceded her in death.
Norma is survived by her cousin and guardian Terri Alcorn, her children, many cousins, and friends.
Norma was employed as a teacher for several years and also worked at Crane Naval Base. Norma spent most of her life living on their small family farm in Lost River Township. She had spent the last few years living at The Legends in Washington and making many friends along the way.
Her passions included playing the piano and writing songs. Norma was strong in her faith and she was proud of where she was from. Norma made friends wherever she went and loved being surrounded by people. She will
be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home in Shoals with burial in Waggoner Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Martin County Humane Society, 507 N. Oak St. Loogootee.
