Man Pulls Knife On Bloomington Police Officers Saturday Morning

(BLOOMINGTON) – On Saturday, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Bloomington Police officers were called to PetSmart after a report of a man threatening employees.

The store manager reported a transient man had locked himself in the women’s restroom and was screaming at employees and refusing to exit the store.

As officers arrived in the area, they found the man walking near Gates Drive and attempted to make contact with him to check on his welfare.

While officers were speaking with the man, he pulled a knife and threatened the officers. The man refused to drop the knife and attempted to walk away.

Officers were able to successfully use less-lethal launchers to disarm the man and take him into custody near the La Quinta Inn on Runkle Way.

The man was transported to the hospital by ambulance for an evaluation.

The name of the man has no been released.
