On July 1 an officer was requested to the 1800 block of 26th Street after a report of mischief to a mailbox.

“While speaking with the victim, she also noticed damage to a front window,” said Chief Terry Moore. “It was determined that some kind of an explosive was used to cause the damage.  The victim also stated that she witnessed a small white vehicle in the area at the time of the incident and believed that Deaton Jr. was inside the car.”

Officers located the vehicle in the area and Deaton Jr. was driving.

“The initial report was sent to the detectives for follow up and after several conversations and interviews, it was determined that Deaton Jr. was involved and a warrant was requested for his arrest,” Chief Moore added.
