Matthew Todd Sowders, 38, of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at his residence.
Born November 1, 1981. in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Bruce Sowders and Tammy (Miracle) McCart. He was a utility worker with American Utilities and attended Cornerstone Worship Center. He married Kortni Swango and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Kortni, of Bedford; two sons, Kaleb Sowders and Kolton Sowders, both of Bedford; his companion, Rebecca Jones, of Bedford; his maternal grandmother, Norma Miracle, of Bedford; his paternal
grandmother, Resa Sowders, of Bedford; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal grandfather, Lester Miracle; his paternal grandfather, Paul Sowders; his step-father, Rick McCart.
Following Matthew’s wishes, cremation was chosen. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Murray Softball Field.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends make memorial contributions to his children.
