Obituary: Merlin Dale “Bob” Quinn

February 17, 1982 – May 25, 2020

Merlin Dale “Bob” Quinn, 92, of Shoals, passed away May 25, 2020 in Bedford.

He was born February 17, 1928 in Martin County to Cordia Quinn. He married Madeline Jones on January 1, 1957, at Peoples Tabernacle in West Baden.

He attended Powell Valley School, was previously employed by Taylor Hardware in West Baden, as a school bus driver for Springs Valley School Corporation, Russell Trucking in Shoals, and retired from the maintenance department of Kimball International Piano in West Baden. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War, was a member of the American Legion West Baden Post, and was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his wife Madeline; two daughters, Dinah (Roy) Bergman of Shoals, Jeanine (John) Cole of Alfordsville; two sons, Craig (Karen) Quinn of French Lick, Kevin (Becky) Quinn of Shoals; ten grandchildren, Carrie roach, Michael Quinn, Chris Quinn, Larry Quinn, Joni Todd, Ryan Bergman,
Matthew Quinn, Josh Bergman; twenty great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals with burial in the Emmons Ridge Cemetery. Brother Kevin Quinn will officiate. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of service.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to the Emmons Ridge Cemetery.

The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements.
