Kristen Kayne “Kris” Smith, 42, of Mitchell, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020.
Born May 27, 1977, in Paoli, he was the son of Lonzo Franklin Smith and Nina Lanette (Terrell) Parsley.
Kris was a long-time owner of Smith Tree Service and loved his work. He as a member of the Sons of American Legion Post No. 250. Kris enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, and loved spending time with his boys.
Survivors include his wife, Heather Smith of Mitchell; sons, Dakotha Kayne Smith of Campbellsburg, Xavier Tyson Sons of Bedford, Kristen Kayne Smith II of Salem, stepsons, Lathan Mounce of Mitchell, Caleb Payton of Mitchell; mother, Nina (Robert Brown) Parlsey of Mitchell; siblings, Carolyn Smith of Sommerset, Kentucky, Russell “Rusty” Harden of Salem, Lonzo “Franklin” Smith II of Mitchell, Kilijha Smith of New Albany, Frank Smith of Florida, Diane Smith of New Albany, and Ashley Smith of New Albany
His father preceded him in death.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, at Hop Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service.
