Brent Thompkins Sworn In As Bedford’s Newest Police Officer

(BEDFORD) – Bedford Police Officer Brent Thompkins was sworn in Monday evening during the Board of Works meeting.

Thompkins moved from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Lawrence County to be closer to his children; Benjamin, Paisley, Bentley, and Brynlee. Thompkins’ girlfriend Casey Pagel also attended the ceremony.

“I was in a car accident in my early childhood. All the emergency responders were great to me. I thought this would be a great career; giving back to the community,” said Officer Thompkins.

Thompkins was self-employed before deciding to become a law enforcement officer.

“Currently he is in-field training and, towards the end of the year, we are hoping to have him enrolled in the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy,” said Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore.
