(DAVIESS CO.) – The Daviess County Landfill is open for outside recycling.
The landfill is located at 1640 North County Road 650 East in Montgomery.
Operating hours are:
- Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
- Saturday: from 8 a.m. until Noon
But due to COVID-19 there have been some changes to reopen.
- Glass is no longer being accepted at this time. The landfill has lost their outlet to recycle glass.
- Newspapers can’t be received during inclement weather.
- Magazine and book recyclables will be received at the scale house entrance.
- All cardboard must be corrugated. No paper board, soft drink cartons, cereal boxes or other such cardboard is being accepted at this time.
All transactions will continue to be handled at the scale house window.
All wastes, trash, and demolition debris have the same tipping fee, which is $20.60 per ton. All patrons wishing to dispose of waste will weigh in and out on a State certified scale. The minimum to cross the scale is $6.84.
Only cash, check or pre-approved credit is accepted. Debit and credit cards are not accepted.
