Today Last Day To Register To Vote In Primary Election

(BEDFORD) – Today is the last day to register to vote if you plan to vote in the June 2 primary election.

To register from home visit www.indianavoters.com. You may also check your voting status when visiting the website.

Lawrence County Clerk Billie Tumey says if you can’t register online you can register at the courthouse from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. When entering the courthouse, there are tables set up with voter registration forms that you can be filled out without meeting with an employee. Once the forms are completed they can be dropped in a secure box located near the security desk.

If you need assistance, you can call the voter registration office at 812-277-2036 and an employee will meet you at the tables to help you fill out the form.

Voters have until 4:30 p.m. Monday to register through the courthouse or midnight online.

Early voting will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. May 26-29 at the Courthouse Plaza, at 918 16th St., in Suite 200 the former WorkOne office.

Voters also can cast ballots from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May 30 and from 8:30 a.m. to Noon June 1 at the Courthouse Plaza.

The primary election will be held on June 2.

There will be four voting centers in Lawrence County. They will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Voting Centers in Bedford:

  • Lawrence County Courthouse
  • Parkview Intermediate School
  • Needmore Elementary School

Voting Center in Mitchell:

  • Mitchell Community Building, 101 Tom Green Drive. The center will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. May 30.
