(DUBOIS CO.) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces an emergency road closure on State Road 164 in Dubois County.
Beginning immediately, INDOT crews have closed State Road 164 between 3rd Avenue in Jasper and the intersection of State Road 545.
This closure follows a pipe failure Sunday afternoon at the 3.8 mile marker.
Crews are on-site to replace the structure and expect to be finished by later this afternoon depending upon weather conditions.
Until the pipe is replaced, the road will remain closed around the clock. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure. All other traffic should use the official detour following S.R. 545, S.R. 56, and U.S. 231. INDOT urges motorists to slow down and stay alert near crews.
