(MITCHELL) – Three residents of Mitchell Manor, a nursing home in Lawrence County, have died from COVID-19, according to a statement from Mitchell Manor Executive Director Kathi Hignite-Owens.
Twenty-one additional residents of the nursing home have tested positive, 19 of them at the facility and two others after being transferred to the hospital, according to the statement.
Hignite-Owens said that Mitchell Manor is following all federal, state and local guidelines on the disease, and its staff is “being diligent practicing proper hand hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment.”
The company says that very worker is screened for symptoms when they arrive and when they leave, and visitors and vendors also are restricted.
