Reconstruction Project Scheduled to Begin April 6 on State Road 250 and I-65 in Jackson County

(JACKSON CO.) – Milestone Contractors is expected to begin work on or after Monday, April 6, on a $2 million road reconstruction project on State Road 250 in Jackson County.

The project will reconstruct a 0.8-mile section of State Road 250 between U.S. 31 and I-65 and will be completed in four phases.

The project schedule is subject to change.

Phase 1 (on/after April 6 to mid-April): Crews will complete temporary widening on the south side of S.R. 250 with minimal traffic impacts. Lane closures with flagging will be necessary at times.

Phase 2 (mid-April to late May): S.R. 250 WB closed, only eastbound traffic permitted while crews construct westbound lanes. S.R. 250 WB detour: S.R. 3 to S.R. 56 to U.S. 31 to I-65

Phase 3 (late May to late June): S.R. 250 EB closed, only westbound traffic permitted while crews construct eastbound lanes. S.R. 250 EB detour: U.S. 31 to I-65

Phase 4 (late June to late July): S.R. 250 closed east of I-65 during reconstruction of eastbound and westbound lanes. Detour: U.S. 31 to S.R. 56 to S.R. 3

The intermediate contract completion date is October 31, 2020. The entire project is expected to be complete by June 30, 2021.Motorists should slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.  All work is weather dependent.
