Marvel Eugene May, 83, of Spencer, went home to be with the Lord at 6:10 p.m. on March 21, 2020, at Aperion Care Spencer in Spencer.
He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Marvel enjoyed attending church, spending time with his beloved dog, “Shredder” and teaching his children and grandchildren about his Lord and Savior.
He was born September 21, 1936. He was the son of Roy “Delbert” and Maude “Bessie” May.
Survivors include five sons, Brion and wife, Mindy May, Brent and wife, Nikki May, Curtis and wife, Ruby Pruett, Randy, and wife Ann Pruett, Tim and wife, Amber Pruett; a daughter, Cathy, and husband, Ray Godsey; He has 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrell May; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Darlene Hatfield May; his parents, Roy “Delbert” May and Maude “Bessie” May; three brothers, Gleason May, Cletus May, and Lebert May; a sister, Juanita James; one great
granddaughter, Chesney Allen.
A private graveside service will be conducted at Cresthaven Memory Gardens with Pastor Curtis Pruett officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
