Treasurer’s Office Closed for Non-Essential Business

(BEDFORD) – The Lawrence County Courthouse is closed for all non-essential business.

“The Treasurer’s office is closed to the public as our business is neither time-sensitive nor essential,” said Treasurer Paula Stewart. “This policy will be reviewed as the tax deadline, May 11th, approaches.”

Property tax statements will be sent in mid-April and will include a return envelope for your use.

Tax amounts can already be obtained by going to https:\lawrencecounty.egovpayments.com.

“Please be aware that any changes discussed with either the assessor’s or auditor’s office might change your tax payment amount. Otherwise, the tax amounts have been certified by the state,” added Stewart. “Questions will only be handled by phone. Tax payments should be mailed, paid online or via the toll-free number below.”

Office hours are 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily. The phone number is 812-275-2431.

Tax payments can be mailed to 916 15th Street, Room 27, Bedford, IN 47421.
