Bedford Man Arrested at Murray Park

(BEDFORD) – A Bedford man was arrested after officers found him parked at Murray Park early Saturday morning.

“An officer was checking Murray Park after the park had closed and as he was leaving a vehicle entered the park and parked near the back of the parking lot,” says Chief Terry Moore. “The officer turned around to speak with the driver and when he approached the vehicle he only found a female passenger.”

The passenger stated that the driver parked the vehicle and took off, running into the woods.

Officers later located the 40-year-old Phillip Middleton, of 1417 18th St.

“The male, Philip Middleton, showed usual signs of intoxication. He was wearing no shoes and only one sock. He was taken into custody. “

Middleton was arrested on a charge of public intoxication and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
