Bridge Rehab Project Begins Monday on State Road 46 East of Nashville in Brown County

(BROWN CO.) – INDOT contractor Duncan Robertson Inc. plans to begin work on a $1.5 million bridge rehabilitation project on State Road 46 in Brown County on or after Monday, March 16, weather permitting. The project includes two bridges over North Fork Salt Creek, east of Nashville.

Crews will start with bridge deck replacement and widening on the bridge located approximately 1.25 miles east of the State Road 135 junction in Nashville, east of Parkview Road. The bridge will be reduced to one lane starting Monday with a temporary traffic signal through early August.

Following the completion of the first bridge, the contractor will move to the second bridge, located just under a mile east of the State Road 135 junction in Nashville, west of Parkview Road. Crews will complete a bridge deck overlay at the second location, which will also be reduced to one lane with a temporary signal. Work will not take place on both bridges at the same time.

The contract was awarded to Duncan Robertson in November 2019 and is expected to be complete in late August. Motorists should use extra caution, watch for slowed and/or stopped traffic, and drive distraction-free through the work zone. All work is weather dependent.
