(BEDFORD) – Two women were injured in a two-vehicle accident near the Dollar Tree Saturday afternoon.

Bedford Police officers and emergency crews responded to the accident at 3:19 p.m.

According to a Bedford Police report, 23-year-old Kathleen Sater, of Bloomington, was stopped at the stop sign leaving the Walmart parking lot traveling east to the Dollar Tree.

Sater told police said she didn’t see the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado when she pulled her 2005 Ford Taurus into the path of the oncoming car.

The driver of the Silverado, 73-year-old Patricia Farrell, of Bedford, told police she was traveling north towards John Williams Boulevard when a vehicle pulled in front of her vehicle.

The stop sign at the exit of the Dollar Tree was knocked down in the collision.

Both women complained of pain and were transported to IU Health Hospital by ambulance for medical evaluations.

Sater was issued a summons to appear in court on a charge of driving while her driver’s license was suspended.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
