Obituary: Larry Burton

March 19, 1941 – March 1, 2020

Larry Burton, 78, of Bedford, passed away at 3:35 p.m., on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Stonebridge Health Campus.

Born March 19, 1941, in Monroe Co., he was the son of Joseph “Woody” and Audrey (Bault) Burton. He married Pamela Blake on February 25, 1984, and she survives. He was a graduate of Ellettsville High School with the class of

Larry joined the Army National Guard on September 5, 1963, where he served until he was honorably discharged on September 4, 1969. He was a union electrician and member of I.B.E.W. #725. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones, fishing, hunting, and restoring old tractors.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela, of Bedford; sons, Roger (Jamie) Burton, Greg (Janice) Burton, Mark (Tabitha) Cain, and Christopher (Sheila) Cain; ten grandchildren, Zachary, Cooper, Emma and Braddock Burton, Kenny Crook, Danyelle Burton, Whitney (TJ) Lamb, Logun (Cory) Young, Henry Cain, and J.R. Purcell; three great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Kruz Lamb, and Ayla Burton; one sister, Freida Smith, and husband, Loris “Smitty” and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 5th at Mitchell Cemetery on Hunter’s Creek Road in the Hoosier National Forest. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
