Bedford Man Injured in Accident on State Road 37

(BEDFORD) – One person was injured in a crash on State Road 37 on Saturday night.

According to a Bedford Police report, 74-year-old Kenneth Archer, of Bedford, was traveling north on State Road 37 and entered onto the on-ramp to continued northbound on State Road 37.

Police say Archer’s 2000 Chevrolet Silverado veered off the roadway and collided with a metal barrier on the right side of the ramp. The vehicle bounced off the barrier, collided into the concrete barrier on the left side of the ramp, and then slid alongside it.

Archer suffered a minor laceration to his mouth and lips. Archer refused medical treatment at the scene.

He was later transported to IU Health Hospital for a medical evaluation by an Indiana State Trooper who was assisting at the scene on the criminal investigation of driving while intoxicated.
