Bedford Man Arrested on Domestic Battery Charges

(BEDFORD) – A Bedford man was arrested Friday afternoon after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Tuesday, Feb. 18th, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a domestic fight in the 5900 block of State Road 158 West.

“On arrival officers encountered the adult female victim who was suffering from an injury to her left eye. The victim had swelling, a contusion and bruising to that area,” said Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults.

The woman told police that she and 24-year-old Donald Todd had been arguing for sometime when he got her down on the ground and repeatedly punched her in the face.

“Another person at the residence was able to remove the victim to another room in the residence as well as two children who were present when the incident took place,” Chief Shoults added. “Todd suffered an injury to his head from an unknown source during the incident.”

Both the female victim and Todd were transported to IU Health Bedford.

“Todd’s injury required stitches,” Chief Shoults added. “The female was transferred to Methodist Hospital for a fracture of the bone around her eye.”

Todd, of 30 Timberland Pass, was arrested without incident on charges of domestic battery and criminal confinement.
