(ORLEANS) – Longtime Orleans educator and retiring superintendent Gary McClintic has been named the Grand Marshal of the 2020 Dogwood Festival Parade.
The announcement was made at the recent Dogwood Festival planning committee meeting held on Tuesday night.
The 52nd annual festival is slated for April 18-25.
McClintic will lead the town’s trademark parade through historic downtown Orleans on April 25th at 2 p.m.
Mike Hester was named the winner of the 2020 Orleans Dogwood Festival theme contest – “Dogwood Festival 2020: Visions of Color, Life, and Art!”
For his winning theme, Mike will receive a $100 cash price, a t-shirt with this year’s festival artwork/theme highlighted.
Orleans Chamber and the Dogwood Committee wish to sincerely thank all those who took time out to submit their theme entries for the contest.
