Two 14-Year-Old Boys Arrested on Battery Charges

(BEDFORD) – Bedford Police arrested two 14-year-old Bedford boys Sunday after they were accused of striking two people with wooden boards in the Hardee’s parking lot.

Both teens are being charged with battery with a deadly weapon and battery resulting in bodily injury.

According to Chief Terry Moore, officers were called to Hardee’s at 3:53 p.m. Thursday after a report of a fight in the parking lot.

“Two 15-year-olds were struck multiple times by the teen with wooden boards,” said Chief Moore. “Both victims suffered injuries and received treatment at a local hospital.”

Chief Moore says the victims did not want to cooperate and give officers the names of who struck them.

Police were able to identify the teens involved from video footage.

Chief Moore says a woman brought the two teens to the restaurant.

“A warrant has been requested for her arrest on charges of child neglect and contributing to juvenile delinquency,” says Chief Moore.

“The video shows her getting out of the vehicle,” Chief Moore said. “She wasn’t really trying to stop it and wasn’t egging it on either.”

As of this morning, the woman has not been arrested.
