Bedford Woman Arrested Sunday after Injuring Juvenile During Domestic Fight

(BEDFORD) – A Bedford woman was arrested Sunday morning after police say she injured a juvenile during a domestic fight.

Bedford Police officers were alerted to the crime after a female juvenile came to the police department to report the incident.

“The juvenile had visible injuries,” says Chief Terry Moore. “The teen said 34-year-old Lydia Wigley had punched her several times with a closed fist. The child was able to get away from Lydia and ran to a friend’s house.”

A Department of Child Services caseworker was alerted and came to the station.

Officers went to a home in the 3300 block of Washington Avenue to speak to Wigley. Officials say she was not home, but instead at a nearby trailer.

When officers arrived at the trailer they located Wigley and she was arrested on charges of domestic battery causing injury on a person under the age of 16.
