Delores ‘Beth’ Melvin Retires from Rockville Correction Facility

(ROCKVILLE) – Warden Julie Stout and all the staff at the Rockville Correctional Facility (RCF) are pleased to congratulate Delores Elizabeth Melvin on her retirement after 20 years of dedicated service to the Indiana Department of Correction.

Beth began her career at RCF in January 2000 and worked in nearly every duty assignment at the facility.  She spent several years in the facility’s Segregated Housing Unit supervising particularly problematic offenders.  Beth, who is thoroughly trained in the use of Department sidearms, most recently was assigned to offender transportation duties where she and other staff were responsible for transportation of offenders to and from the RCF for a variety of reasons, including medical appointments, transfers to other facilities, parole/probation assignments, or to an offender’s home upon their release.  She leaves a legacy of dedication with the staff, many of whom she had a hand in training at the start of their own careers.

In retirement, Beth plans to devote her free time to family pursuits and indulge her passion for hunting.
