Obituary: Bonnie Kay Rainey

October 2, 1943 – January 31, 2020

Bonnie Kay Rainey, 76, of Bloomington died at 8:14 pm on Friday, January 31, 2020, at the Hearthstone Health Campus in Bloomington.


Born October 2, 1943, in Newburg, MO, she was the daughter of William and Virginia (Alexander) Willis. She married Charles Marion Rainey on June 7, 1963, and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2005. She retired from PRD and had previously worked at RCA in Bloomington.


Survivors include her three children: Debra Rugenstein of Slosberry, Beverly Prince of Bloomington, Steven Rainey and his spouse, Roy Allen of Shelbyville; six grandchildren:Casey Rugenstein, Alissa Rugenstein, Joshua Prince, Jessica Prince, Mathew Prince, and Olivia Prince; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Michael Rainey, a sister, Audrey Martin, and three brothers, Duke Willis, Ronald Willis, and Roger Willis.


Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 4th at the Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg, with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Per Bonnies wish there will be no visitation. Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
