Incidents – Jan. 16

  • 5:02 a.m. Report of a residential entry in the 1270 block of Pete Pritchett Lane. The caller told the dispatcher someone was attempting to break into her home. She said she heard someone walking up her basement stairs. The caller was told to switch to 911 texting so the person could not hear her talking. Police arrived and found no one in the home and no attempted or forced entry. Police will make extra patrols
  • 5:30 a.m. Report of an abandoned vehicle at Standish Steel Road and Old US 50 East
  • 6:49 a.m. 911 call reporting a medical emergency in the 11710 block of US 50 West in Martin County. A person was suffering back pain
  • 7:14 a.m. An information report was taken in the 210 block of Hammersly Lane. The caller reported their vehicle was missing. It was a repossession
  • 7:14 a.m. Police made extra patrols at Needmore Elementary
  • 7:25 a.m. Traffic stop in the 100 block of Industrial Parkway
  • 7:32 a.m. Report of an abandoned vehicle in the 8240 block of State Road 54 West. The vehicle has been parked near the roadway for more than 90 days
  • 7:39 a.m. Police made extra patrols at Springville and Needmore Elementary Schools
  • 8:33 a.m. 911 call in the 760 block of Cassidy Lane. It was an accidental call
  • 9:10 a.m. Request for animal control to the 640 block of Harold Smith Road for dogs running loose in the area

  • 12 p.m. 911 call from an unknown location. The caller says her dog hit the phone making the call

  • 1:29 p.m. Trespassing in the 340 block of Dale Street. The caller says there were four to five people on his property armed with firearms and they threatened to kill the caller’s dogs. They believe that the caller’s dog attacked their dog, but his dog was outside secured on a cable
  • 1:45 p.m. Report of an erratic driver southbound in a blue van on State Road 37 from Woodville Road
  • 1:52 p.m. Theft in the 20 block of West Brook Street. The caller say someone stole her French bulldog out of her back yard. The dog was located
  • 2:01 p.m. Warrant service in the 420 block of West Oak Street
  • 3:02 p.m. Traffic stop at 9th Street and Hoosier Avenue in Oolitic
  • 3:08 p.m. Request for a welfare check in the 910 block of Walker Addition
  • 3:24 p.m. Warrant service in the 310 block of East Frank Street. A female was detained
  • 3:31 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 446 and Erie Church Road. A citation was issued for speeding
  • 3:44 p.m. Report of a broken dresser in the roadway at State Road 37 and Woodville Road
  • 3:59 p.m. Citizen assist in the 180 block of Sorrells Road. A male is requesting to speak to an officer. The male is leasing farmland from a family and a family member has placed a protective order against him preventing him from going onto the property. He is concerned about equipment and cattle he cares for on the property 
  • 4:05 p.m. Request for animal control to South I Street and Vinegar Hill Road for a stray dog
  • 4:06 p.m. Traffic stop at West Main Street and State Road 37 at Mitchell Manor. A female was arrested for driving while driver’s license suspended with a prior conviction
  • 4:07 p.m. Noise complaint at Indiana Avenue and Lafayette Avenue
  • 4:16 p.m. Lift assist in the 780 block of State Road 158. An elderly female fell and can’t get up
  • 4:35 p.m. Repossession in the 1040 block of Blue Springs Caverns Road
  • 4:43 p.m. Report of a suicidal person in the 80 block of Farmers Street
  • 5:07 p.m. 911 call hangup in the 660 block of Oolitic Road. It was an accidental call
  • 5:35 p.m. Medical emergency in the 990 block of Sugar Hill Road. A 50-year-old male was having alcohol withdraws
  • 6:12 p.m. Domestic fight in the 160 block of Knob Creek Road. A female left for the night
  • 6:20 p.m. Lift assist in the 120 block of The Woods. A female fell and can’t get up
  • 6:37 p.m. Officers made extra patrols at Mitchell High School

  • 8:48 p.m. Traffic stop at US 50 East and Woody Farm Road
  • 8:49 p.m. Traffic stop at the Marathon Station on State Road 37
  • 8:54 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 446 and Erie Church Road
  • 9:08 p.m. Traffic stop at US 50 East and Shawswick Station Road
  • 9:18 p.m. 911 call in the 400 block of Shawnee Lane. Bedford Police were alerted. The caller repored they located their stolen vehicle 
  • 9:28 p.m. Agency assist at Woodville Road and State Road 37
  • 9:42 p.m. Warrant service in the 420 block of West Oak Street
  • 9:47 p.m. 911 call on State Road 37 near the river bridge. The caller was transferred to Bedford Police Department. A male was staggering in the roadway
  • 9:56 p.m. Officers made extra patrols in the 1780 block of Spencer Pike Road
  • 10:08 p.m. Follow up investigating at Bedford Police Department about the recovery of a stolen vehicle 
  • 10:44 p.m. Drug investigaiton at North 4th and Warren streets in Mitchell. Police searched a residence for drugs

  • 11:10 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at Roots RV
  • 11:18 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Old State Road 37
  • 11:32 p.m. Agency assist at State Road 446 and US 50 East

  • 12:29 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at Riverview Addition Road
  • 12:33 a.m. Citizen assist at Speedway gas station. An employee reported a man is in the store and refusing to leave. The male is making employees uncomfortable. Police gave the male a ride to Huron
  • 12:42 a.m. Agency assist at State Road 446, north of US 50 East
  • 2:49 a.m. Repossession in the 430 block of Bartlettsville Road
  • 4:54 a.m. 911 call from Garfield Laundry in Martinsville. Indiana State Police were alerted
