Susie began her career at RCF in June 2000 as a secretary for the education department. In January 2013 she was promoted to her current position as Community Engagement Coordinator, a position that allows her strengths to shine. Susie is known for her attention to detail and her thoroughness with any project. No project is incomplete when Susie is involved.

The position of CEC is often the face of a facility to the local community. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, Susie can be counted on to represent RCF in the most professional manner.

The Community Engagement Coordinator is a connection between IDOC, volunteers, non-profit organizations and the general public. Susie is responsible for making each of those connections work in the most efficient and beneficial way. From training volunteers on the safety and security procedures for coming into the facility to organizing a staff food drive for the local food pantry, Susie completes it all with finesse and a smile.

Concerning this esteemed award, RCF Warden Stout commented, “Susie is most deserving of this award. Her dedication to the facility is second to none. She makes everyone she comes into contact with feel special, and every event the most important. She is a true blessing to the facility.”
