Wabash Valley Correctional Facility American Legion Post 398 Donates to Toys for Tots

(CARLISLE) – On December 11, Wabash Valley Correctional Facility (WVCF) Chaplain Tim Tanner presented a check for $1,000 to the Toys for Tots drive hosted by the United States Marine Corps. The funds were donated on behalf of the Kyle Snyder American Legion Post 398.

The Kyle Snyder American Legion Post 398 is comprised of veteran offenders residing at WVCF.  On November 8, 2013, the post was established in recognition of a man who lost his life while serving in the 76th Infantry Brigade.  Chaplain Tim Tanner is the liaison for the Post and assists in coordinating the events.  Post 398 maintains the same requirements as American Legion Posts in the communities.

Throughout the year, Post 398 hosts multiple fundraisers in order to provide donations to the community. During 2019 the Kyle Snyder Post donated over $20,000, year to date, to multiple organizations including Riley’s Children’s Hospital, area schools, and scholarship programs.

“I am proud of the effort these men put into providing for their community. Their willingness to help and serve others is to be commended,” stated WVCF Chaplain Tim Tanner.
